Andy Dunlop – Founder of Island Scaffold
“Andrew (Andy) Dunlop”
A Hard-working, Loving, Caring, Selfless, Compassionate, and just a true heart of gold. Andy’s mission was to help as many people in need as possible. Andy sponsored over 20 children in need through Compassion Australia, along with a number of small villages in Vietnam. He spent many a weekend walking the streets of Melbourne feeding the homeless and being that friend that would lend a listening ear. He donated his time at youth groups and running small camp trips. Where he couldn’t give of his time, he would work hard in his business to donate money in all sorts of areas.
Andy Dunlop founded Island Scaffold at Phillip Island, Vic in 1998. Andy was a plasterer and renderer at the time when he decided to design his own scaffolding system. Andy’s Single Pole System had no obstructions between himself and the wall when the scaffold was complete so that he could render the entire wall with ease and efficiency.
Due to the lack of scaffold and the increase of building in the Bass Coast region, Andy decided to hire out the Single Pole Scaffold to local businesses and supplying clients with the scaffolding. As the demand grew, Andy then decided to take the leap into purchasing a Ringlock Scaffolding System due to the convivence and speed that the system offered.
Sadly Andy Dunlop passed away on 17th of March 2015.
The Dunlop family have all worked hard to keep Island Scaffold running in remembrance and honour of Andy Dunlop. In continuing Andy’s mission, 10% of all profits are currently and will continue to be donated to people in need.
The whole of the Island Scaffold team owes a big thanks to Andy and his hard work and dedication to this business as none of this would have been possible without him.
